The HiVi B3N 3-inch aluminium cone driver is a compact yet powerful transducer engineered to deliver precise, controlled bass and mid-bass performance in space-constrained designs. This round-frame driver excels in applications where a small footprint must not compromise audio quality, making it ideal for desktop speakers, portable sound systems, or custom subwoofer enclosures. Its aluminium diaphragm ensures stiffness and low mass, enabling fast transient response and reduced distortion even at moderate excursion levels.
Technically, the B3N features a ferrite magnet motor paired with a CCA (copper-clad aluminium) voice coil, achieving a total Q factor (Qts) of 0.86. This value indicates a well-damped driver suitable for sealed or small vented enclosures, where it can produce extended low-frequency output without excessive boom. The mechanical Q (Qms) of 4.48 and electrical Q (Qes) of 1.07 further refine its damping characteristics, while a maximum linear excursion (Xmax) of 3 mm allows for clean, dynamic playback. With a sensitivity of 81 dB SPL at 2.83V/1m and a nominal impedance of 6.5 ohms, this driver integrates easily into most amplifier designs. Its 88.9 mm overall diameter and 54 mm depth, with a 73 mm cut-out, make it a versatile choice for upgrading or building compact audio systems that demand accurate, room-filling sound.
