With a headphone jack built into the front panel and a compact chassis, you can enjoy full-scale sound through speakers or headphones alike. This model succeeds the TU-8100, adding minor refinements and a black enclosure. The amplifier is built around the well-known ECL85 (6GV8) tube for a genuinely tube-driven sound. Two inputs - RCA and a rear stereo mini-jack - let you connect a standard audio source, a phone, or a portable player. An optional PS-3249R USB-DAC module can also be fitted internally, adding a USB connection to a PC as a digital source. The front-panel headphone output means you're not limited to listening through speakers, and works with headphones rated between 8 and 600 ohms, with the output level selectable via jumpers.
